Fringe by the Sea takes place every year in North Berwick while the noisy and chaotic Edinburgh Fringe frenzies away a few miles up the road. From modest beginnings it has grown to become a fantastic few days for audiences and perfomers alike, drawing the former in ever greater numbers and the latter in ever increasing diversity and stature. Also, always beautiful weather by some coincidence!
I'd played a couple of low-key solo gigs there in the past and was buzzing for the opportunity to play there with the trio. We came. We played. The weather and the audience did not disappoint. We had a great time. What a fantastic festival this is. Kudos to the organisers who've managed to scale it all up while keeping that personal, small festival vibe.
My wife captured the two videos below on her phone. Testament to the sound guy, Charlie, for a great job.
